Some interesting movies seem to be on the way:
For one there is the Persepolis movie coming to theaters around the Christmas season. It keeps the black and white and graphic novel quality of Marjane Satrapi’s original work. It has already been released in France and Belgium (lucky them). I really looking forward to this movie. It’s supposed to stay true to the graphic novel.
Now for the next movie, live action Dragon Ball Z. Now they’ve been talking about this one since I’ve been in middle school, but now they have a cast and everything. It stars Justin Chatwick and James Marsters. Its set to be released in the US in 2010. Is this going to involve a lot of big spiky hair? If it doesn’t it won’t be the same, but if it does, I think it might be a little scary.
A live action Speed Racer is also in the works. It’s directed by the Wachowski brothers and is set to be released in 2008. The movie based on the 1960s anime stars Emile Hirch, Christina Ricci, Susan Sarandon and Matthew Fox. Is it just me or has anime just become pop culture?
There are also rumours of such movies as Halo, Blood: The Last Vampire, and Spyro the Dragon, and for now that’s all they are. For now we have movies like the Golden Compass and Enchanted to keep us occupied. Let’s hope that these movie turn out good and not horrible, although I still can’t figure out how they’re going to do that with the live action Dragonball Z movie. I mean for the whole anime they look really constipated (Not to say that I haven’t watch DBZ, because I have). Are you going to want to see that in live action?
PS. Narnia: Prince Caspian should be on the way in 2008.
Nice Car, huh?
